Hostfully offers a free guidebook for one property. myHouseGuide does not. The free plan solves one part of the decision; Hostfully reserves custom branding, bulk editing, instant translations, and revenue tools for its paid Pro plan.
Choose Hostfully if its free tier or portfolio tools fit your operation. Choose myHouseGuide if you want core guide features, unlimited properties, and a published flat price.
We checked the public product and pricing pages on August 19, 2026. Hostfully does not publish a dollar price for Pro on its comparison page, so this article does not invent one.
The short answer
myHouseGuide is the simpler paid option. It costs $5 per month, $50 per year, or $100 once. Every plan includes unlimited properties, custom manuals, QR codes, guest access controls, and local recommendations.
Hostfully has three levels:
- Free: one customizable guidebook, sponsored recommendations, and Hostfully PMS and Devices sync
- Pro: up to 199 guidebooks, with branding, bulk editing, translations, and revenue features
- Enterprise: 200 or more guidebooks, with a quote, priority support, and creation assistance
Hostfully is a strong fit for one property on a free plan or a professional portfolio that values templates, upsells, and Hostfully connections. myHouseGuide fits hosts who want fewer pricing gates and less operational software around the guide.

Hostfully's free plan is the best zero-cost option
A permanent free plan is hard to beat if you manage one property and do not mind sponsored recommendations. Hostfully includes the information guests need from booking to checkout, plus link, QR code, print, and PDF access.
The tradeoff is control. Hostfully says the free guidebook includes sponsored recommendations, while custom branding appears on Pro. A host who wants a guide without third-party promotions must compare the paid plan with other products.
myHouseGuide starts as a paid product. There is no free tier in the current plan selection, but the same feature set applies across monthly, yearly, and lifetime billing.
Multi-property costs stay predictable with myHouseGuide
myHouseGuide does not price by guidebook count. A host can add properties without moving into a different allowance or asking for an enterprise quote.
That matters before you need advanced portfolio tools. Someone with six homes may want six clear guides but no upsell marketplace, template hierarchy, or property management system. In that case, a flat $50 annual payment is easy to budget.
Hostfully's public page describes allowances but does not display the Pro price. It directs buyers to “Get Started” and reserves tailored pricing for 200 or more guidebooks. Ask for the exact subscription total and any transaction costs before making a portfolio comparison.
Hostfully adds portfolio publishing and revenue tools
Hostfully Pro includes bulk editing and instant translation into more than 16 languages. Bulk editing matters when the same checkout rule, emergency contact, or area note appears in dozens of guides.
Its marketplace can also sell host services and third-party activities. Hostfully states that guidebook marketplace upsells carry a 1% Stripe fee. Those tools can turn the guide from a reference page into a sales channel.
myHouseGuide does not offer bulk updates across a portfolio or an upsell marketplace today. It is designed around editing each property's guide and sharing it. If those missing features would force your team into repeated work, Hostfully Pro is likely the better fit.
myHouseGuide imports an existing manual
Many hosts are not starting from an empty page. Their check-in details sit in a PDF, photos, messages, or a printed binder.
myHouseGuide accepts PDFs and images up to the limits shown in the importer, plus pasted notes. Its AI proposes structured fields, and the host approves the content before publishing. Hosts should review door codes, rules, and other details before publishing.
If your information is still trapped in a document, use our PDF house manual alternative guide to plan the move.
Hostfully provides a Quick Start Wizard, templates, and weekly guidebook office hours. Its pricing FAQ says the team can guide customers through setup, though it does not build the whole guidebook on the standard plans. Enterprise lists guidebook creation assistance.
Both products cover the guest-facing basics
Guests can open a web guide with property details, check-in information, rules, local recommendations, photos, and mobile access from either product. Both support a persistent link and QR code, so hosts can update the guide without printing a new binder.
myHouseGuide includes searchable sections, guest-facing translations, maps, printable output, photos, videos, Wi-Fi QR codes, and access controls. The QR code house manual guide shows why the QR code should lead to a readable page rather than a raw PDF.
Hostfully adds printable PDFs, recommendation-only guidebooks, templates, email capture, a virtual concierge, and partner services. Its guidebook overview also highlights browser delivery, shared templates, multi-language support, automated delivery, and upsells as selection criteria.
Hostfully customer feedback
Capterra lists Hostfully Guidebooks at 4.8 out of 5 from 123 reviews as of July 20, 2026. Its review summary says customers value clear structure, mobile access, customization, and support. It also notes requests for more design flexibility and stronger print layouts.
That is useful evidence, but it does not predict your own fit. Test the exact workflow that matters: add a property, change shared information, view the result on a phone, and ask how a guest finds one urgent answer.

Choose based on your lasting constraint
A one-property host can reasonably start with Hostfully Free. A growing operator may value Hostfully Pro's bulk tools more than a lower subscription. A host who wants a clear guide at a fixed cost may prefer myHouseGuide.
